Parking Lot and Site Maintenance

A permit is required for parking lot and site maintenance work. This work may include asphalt and concrete maintenance work, as well as curb and gutter and other concrete flatwork. A plan review is conducted for this project type. Any contractor performing the work must obtain a village Contractor's Business License before the permit is issued.

Current Fees:

Commercial and Non-Residential Fee = $250

Residential Minimum Base Fee = $50 (one work location)

Residential Maximum Fee = $150

Residential Fee is increased by $25 over the minimum base fee for each work location, or if the work area is more than 10,000 square feet, then the maximum fee will apply.

Submittal Requirements:

  •  Commercial village permit application
  • Two (2) copies of a site plan or a plat of survey highlighting the areas of repair
  • Two (2) copies of the Project Proposal on company letterhead describing what is being done and how it will be done

Required Pavement Patching Inspections:

  • Stone Base
  • Asphalt Patching
  • Final Engineering

Inspections can be scheduled up to 4pm the business day prior to the requested inspection date by contacting the Permitting Division of the Community Development Department at 847.923.4420.

Code Requirements:

  • Pavement patching must be full depth of existing asphalt
  • Saw cut the entire work area
  • Base should be leveled and compacted
  • Prime base course and edges
  • Install a minimum of two (2) inches of binder course compacted to 1-1/2 inches
  • Install a minimum of two (2) inches of surface course compacted to 1-1/2 inches
