Mayor Al Larson is pleased to announce the availability of the 25th Annual Community Scholarship in cooperation with Business and Career Services, Inc. A President’s Committee will select the scholarship winners.
As a result of a joint scholarship development campaign in the business community, the village has been provided funding to award a scholarships to qualified residents to pursue educational training, upgrading or retraining. The scholarships can be applied towards tuition, books and any other commensurate educational expenses.
ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION CRITERIA:
REQUIREMENTS (Please read before completing this application)
Candidates must complete the scholarship application, submit two references and photo identification, which includes date of birth and social security number (example: photocopy of driver’s license and photocopy of social security card). Follow the directions given in each section of this application; failure to do so may result in disqualification. Be sure to complete and include the section of this application that covers financial need. Remember, applicants’ answers and references are limited to the space provided. Typed applications are preferred.

The scholarship recipient will be notified by Friday, April 27, 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter. The scholarship is valid until June 15, 2019, and is non-renewable.
Scholarship recipients will not receive cash. The Associate Director at Business and Career Services, Inc. will assist the scholarship recipient with academic advising, enrollment and payment directly to the educational institution of tuition, fees, books and approved supplies not exceeding the amount of the scholarship. Eligibility for additional services provided through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act will also be reviewed with the recipients.
