All village facilities will be closed to the public effective Monday, March 23 through Thursday, April 30.

WebPay

Express Permits and contractor’s licenses via WebPay – Submit and pay for the following permits without leaving your home or office:

  • Roofing, Siding, Air Conditioner, Furnace, Water Heater, Certificate of Occupancy
  • Note: Payments must be made by credit card with a 2.25% service fee
  • Your permit card will be approved and emailed to you – Please print (preferably in color) and post in a prominent location near the entry prior to starting work.

Residential or Commercial Permits and Plans – submit your permit application and plans by emailing planreview@schaumburg.com. Ideally, emailed plans should be 10MB or less.
 
Large Residential or Commercial Permits and Plans – submittals with plans larger than 10MB can be submitted on a CD and mailed to the Village of Schaumburg, 101 Schaumburg Ct, Schaumburg, IL 60193, Attn: Permits. The applicant may also send an electronic link to planreview@schaumburg.com so we may download drawings from your cloud based storage (i.e. Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive, etc.) 

  • Please refer to our electronic submittal resource guide for additional information.
  • Permit payments can be made via WebPay once plans are approved. The Village of Schaumburg will provide you with a fee and code to access our Pay for a Permit WebPay page.
  • Approved plans can be emailed if file fits the size restrictions. Otherwise, approved plans can be mailed on a CD.

Inspections

Inspection staff is available to perform building and engineering inspections. Customers may call (847) 923-4420 to schedule an inspection.  If an inspection date has already been scheduled, customers may call (847) 923-4420 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. the morning of their inspection in order to narrow down their inspection timeframe or to communicate special instructions for our staff.


Cultural Services/Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts

Events

All events through April 15th have been canceled. This date may be extended as conditions change. Inquiries related to the Prairie Center should be directed to prairiecenter@schaumburg.com. A voicemail can be left by calling (847) 895-3600, however, email inquiries can be responded to more quickly. The event calendar on the Prairie Center’s website will be updated with the status of upcoming events.

Youth Programs


Engineering & Public Works Department

Essential Functions
The Engineering and Public Works Department will continue to provide: water distribution and system maintenance, sewer repair, street patching, respond to street light knockdowns or traffic signal errors, facility/ventilation maintenance, and snow and ice control.

Requests for emergency response, such as alleviating sewer backups, pavement repairs on primary routes, or water main leaks should be directed to the Schaumburg 311 Customer Service Center or (847) 882-3586.

In addition to making online bill payments through WebPay, monthly debit withdrawals from a bank account or payments by phone at (888) 829-4485, water bill payments can also be dropped off in payment drop-off boxes. Available boxes include the Schaumburg Metra station and the drive-up drop-box in the flagpole circle by the west entrance to Village Hall. Staff will collect payments from the box at Village Hall every hour throughout the day to ensure timely processing. The Finance Department will accept cash payments in sealed envelopes with remittance advice included. If you don’t have exact change, the Finance department will credit your account for the full amount of your cash payment.

Real Estate Transfer Stamps

To obtain a real estate transfer stamp, please email the required documents below to financecollectors@schaumburg.comPlease allow up to 3 business days to receive your stamp.

For full consideration transfer stamps, please include the following documents with the Village of Schaumburg Real Estate Declaration form.

  1. Copy of the Illinois Real Estate Transfer Declaration (PTAX 203, MY DEC) or Sales Contract.
  2. Copy of the Deed.
  3. Copy of the legal description of the property.
  4. Contact the Water Department, in advance, at (847) 923-4520 for an estimated final water reading.
  5. Payment of any fees owed to the Village of Schaumburg will be coordinated by email and paid with a credit card. Note: A 2.25% service fee will be added to credit card payments. Transfer stamp documents can be mailed if payment by check is preferred. Please include a self- addressed stamped envelope to receive the transfer stamp by mail.
  6. An Executed Certificate of Compliance for non-residential properties.

For exempt transfer stamps, please include the following documents with the Village of Schaumburg Certificate of Exemption form.

  1. Copy of the Deed and copy of the legal description of the property.
  2. Payment of water bill (Contact the Water Department at 847-923-4520).
  3. Payment of any fees owed to the Village of Schaumburg  will be coordinated by email and paid with a credit card. Note: A 2.25% service fee will be added to credit card payments. Transfer stamp documents can be mailed if payment by check is preferred. Please include a self- addressed stamped envelope to receive the transfer stamp by mail.
  4. $10.00 fee and copies of applicable documentation (e.g. PTAX 203, proof of age, ABI, Sales Contracts, etc).
  5. An Executed Certificate of Compliance for non-residential (commercial) properties.

Nursing & Senior Services

Loan Closet Operations

  • The front door to the nursing office will be locked.  This will prevent multiple people from gathering in the front lobby. We have a doorbell that can be used and staff will be watching for people walking up. Only one person will be allowed into the building at a time.
  • Medical equipment loans will be made by appointment basis only – no walk-ins will be allowed. For appointments, we ask that no one with a fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath arrives at the nursing office.
  • When returning an item, please leave it outside. Individuals will be allowed in one person at a time to receive their cash back/paperwork.  Staff will retrieve the returned equipment once the resident has left.

Nursing Visits
Most visits will be phone visits.  If it is determined that a high priority patient must be seen in person, staff will utilize a screening tool to help keep all parties safe.

Senior Food Program
All senior food programs will be drive-up or delivery based but will continue.

Police

Crime Reports
The police department will still be taking all crime reports and responding to all "in progress" calls for service. For non-emergency crime reports, please call (847) 895-4500 and an officer will take the report over the phone.

Records Department
The records department will be closed. Citizens are encouraged to use online payment and records request systems located on our website. However, payments and other correspondence may be left in a drop box located in the front vestibule of the police department. That drop box will be checked daily.

Solicitation
The Village of Schaumburg is currently prohibiting solicitation in the village due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Section 4 of the Executive Order in Response to COVID-19 states: All activities of soliciting, as defined in Title 11, Chapter 119 of the Schaumburg Municipal Code, are hereby prohibited until further notice. This order is in effect until April 30, 2020. If you observe any solicitors or suspicious activity, please dial 911.


Transportation

Commuter Parking Permit Management

Commuters can manage their commuter parking permits online. Information on accessing commuter parking permit accounts, suspending auto renewal and other permit management, can be found on the village’s website.

 

To cancel the auto-renewal of a monthly or quarterly permit, log into your permit account, click “View/Add” Permits at the top of the screen, click “Manage Auto-Renew”.

 

Dial-A-Ride-Transportation Program

The Dial-A-Ride-Transportation services continue to operate as scheduled.  To schedule a ride, residents should call (847) 352-8097 at least 90 minutes prior to the desired pickup time.  

Residents who wish to purchase 10 Ride Reduced Fare Tickets for seniors, people with disabilities, or students can do so through WebPay. Proof of eligibility and payment can be completed through WebPay and the tickets will be mailed to the address provided.  

 

Schaumburg Regional Airport Fueling

 

Schaumburg Regional Airport remains operational for flights.  Pilots who require fueling services can use the 100LL self-serve fueling station at any time.  For full service 100LL or JetA Fuel, please contact Northwest Flyers at (847) 985-9778.   

 

All meetings or events scheduled at the Airport through April 15th have been canceled. This date may be extended as conditions change. Other inquiries regarding the Schaumburg Regional Airport and Helistop should be directed to etrydal@schaumburg.com.
