National Citizen Survey

The village collected feedback from residents by conducting the National Citizen Survey™ (NCS) in 2016 to ensure Schaumburg continues on a path of growth and improvement. Feedback showed that 95% of respondents view the village as a great place to live. In addition, residents said that Schaumburg offers a thriving economy, a positive overall appearance, and serves as a great place to raise a family thanks to high quality schools, parks, and libraries.

The survey helped the village identify priorities which departments are using to set goals:

NCS CoverContinuing investment in local streets
Capital Improvement Plan with $140 million for street repairs or reconstruction in five years including increase to $8 million annually for local streets

Reducing the tax burden
Approved budget with no increases to the local property tax levy for 7th consecutive year

Increasing transit awareness

Improving traffic flow and signal timing
$200,000 Traffic Flow and Signal Timing Grant from Cook County
