The Prairie Center's facilities are available on a rental basis.
The Prairie Center for the Arts provides a variety of settings for meetings, seminars, workshops, corporate events, professional and community theatre groups, etc.
Space available for rental includes our 442 seat auditorium, 96 seat lecture hall and two meeting rooms which can be configured in a variety of ways, each accommodating 15-50 people.

- THEATRE
The Prairie Center Theatre is a 442 seat stepped-up arrangement with excellent sight lines. There are 3 wheelchair seat areas. 13 seats are removable to accomodate an additional 8 wheelchairs.
The theatre has a proscenium style stage, with an opening 35 feet wide by 19 feet high with large 22' wings on both sides. The overall stage width is nearly 80'. The apron extends 7' beyond the arch, and is 3' above the house floor. The theatre has no orchestra pit. However, the first row of seating is 9'6" from the stage, and this space can easily accommodate a small ensemble.
Rigging is a dead hung grid system with catwalks. Grid height from stage floor is 20'6".
The stage floor is a permanent tongue and groove "sprung" hardwood floor with a black stain and sealer.
The Prairie Center has a total of four dressing rooms. There are two at stage level and two on the upper level. Each room can accommodate 8 to 10 people and each have mirrors, make-up lights, private rest rooms, showers, costume racks, Clearcom, etc.
The Theatre houses a variety of lighting and sound equipment to accommodate almost any production from corporate events and school plays to concerts and musicals. A sample of what is available for Prairie Center clients:*
- Orchestra equipment (chairs, stands, risers, acoustic shells)
- 2 follow spots (grid mounted)
- Dedicated 100A 3 phase service located down stage left.
- Yamaha Upright and C7 Grand pianos
- 3000+ watt concert sound system
- Special effects (color scrollers, hazer, fog machine, PyroPak, intelligent lighting)
- LECTURE HALL
The Prairie Center Lecture hall is a 96 seat raked room with a step-up stage. A fantastic room for seminars, lectures and classes. A few features include:
- DLP data/video projection system
- Stereo sound system
- Fold-away desk space on each seat
- Flexible lighting control
- Quality acoustics
- CONFERENCE ROOMS
Our two Meeting Rooms are a mirror image of each other. With approximately 560 square feet of space each*, these rooms are ideal for smaller meetings and classes. Each room can be set up in a variety of configurations.
Both rooms feature brilliant fluorescent as well as soft incandescent lighting, motorized projection screens, small kitchenettes, and a fantastic view of the Municipal Center grounds.
*For a larger event, a "false wall" that separates the two rooms can be folded back - turning the two rooms into one.
- GALLERY
For an art show - or an informal meeting, the Herbert J. Aigner Gallery is a spacious room with a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape and the outdoor amphitheater.
