Thank you for visiting the Village of Schaumburg Economic Development page. Schaumburg is the largest center of economic development in the State of Illinois, outside the City of Chicago. In addition to the 9.5 millions square feet of retail & commercial space, the village has over 12 million square feet of office space and 13.5 million square feet of industrial space. With a daytime population of 150,000, thousands of businesses, highly educated workforce, superb location and high quality of life, Schaumburg is 'The Place for Business.'

Metra, the commuter rail operator in Northeastern Illinois is working to bring a new transportation option to the Chicagoland region: The STAR Line. By filling out the attached survey, Metra will be better able to understand the travel market. If completed as proposed, this project would be the nation`s first suburb-to-suburb commuter rail line running from Joliet north to Hoffman Estates before turning east through Schaumburg on it`s way to O`Hare Airport.
