Residents and visitors are invited to explore Schaumburg’s rich history and promising future through Celebrating Schaumburg’s Past, Present and Future: A 70th Anniversary & America 250 Exhibit, now on display at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road. The free exhibition will remain open to the public through Sept. 30, 2026.

The installation traces Schaumburg’s transformation from a small farming community incorporated in 1956 into one of the region’s premier places to live, work, and visit. Through historic photographs, artifacts, memorabilia, and community stories, guests can explore the milestones and defining moments that have shaped the village over the past seven decades.

Highlights include selections from the 25-year Clock Tower Time Capsule, archival photographs chronicling Schaumburg’s growth and development, anniversary audio and video content, and displays celebrating the people, places, and events that have left a lasting mark on the village.

The exhibit also commemorates America’s 250th anniversary by showcasing the shared values of community, opportunity, innovation, and civic pride that have guided both the nation and the Village of Schaumburg.

“Schaumburg’s story is one of vision, progress, and the people who have made this village a remarkable place to call home,” said Village President Tom Dailly. “As we celebrate our 70th anniversary and America’s 250th anniversary, we hope this experience gives guests an opportunity to reflect on our journey while looking ahead with optimism and excitement for the future.”

The exhibit was developed through a partnership between the Village of Schaumburg and the Schaumburg Township District Library as part of the village’s yearlong 70th Anniversary celebration.
