Village of Schaumburg Launches “Serena Says”

A 24/7 AI Assistant to Help Residents Connect with Village Services

Post Date:10/20/2025 11:00 AM

The Village of Schaumburg is making it easier than ever for residents to get the information and services they need with the launch of Serena Says—a new, AI-powered virtual assistant available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Through Serena Says, residents can quickly find answers to common questions, submit service requests, and connect directly with the right village departments—no matter the time or place, all in one convenient place.

Accessible on the Village’s website, Serena Says appears as a chat icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Residents can type in their questions, from “How do I pay my water bill?” to “When is yard waste pickup?” and receive instant responses to help guide them to the right resources.

For those who prefer texting, residents can also reach Serena Says by sending “Hello” to (877) 730-8877 for quick assistance anytime, anywhere.

If a question requires more detailed help, Serena Says can easily connect users to the appropriate village staff for personalized support.

“We know our residents want fast, reliable answers,” said Village Manager, Brian Townsend. “Serena Says gives our community a simple, convenient way to connect with us on their own schedule.”

Why the name Serena Says? The name Serena is inspired by the village’s beloved Mated Mute Swans, Louis and Serena, who can be seen from early spring through fall on the Municipal Center grounds and pond. With the arrival of new cygnets each year,

this pair has become a favorite sight for those enjoying Schaumburg’s community spaces. Residents can even watch them in real time on the village’s live Swan Cam.

By introducing this easy-to-use tool, Schaumburg continues its commitment to providing accessible, responsive customer service through innovative technology.
