Annual Pesticide and Chemical Application Notice – Village of Schaumburg
Throughout the year, the Village of Schaumburg contracts with licensed professionals to perform targeted chemical applications across various public areas. These treatments are scheduled at different times and locations based on seasonal needs, environmental conditions, and plant health priorities.
The following contractors have been authorized by the Village to conduct pesticide, herbicide, fertilizer, and other chemical treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations:
- Sebert Landscaping: Application of glyphosate (Roundup) along public right-of-ways, broadleaf granular herbicide on turfgrass, and fertilizer treatments for lawn health and aesthetics.
- Kinnucan Tree Services: Injection of Tree-äge (emamectin benzoate) into ash trees for Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) management.
- Advanced Tree Care: Application of fungicides and miticides on crabapples, hawthorns, pines, and spruce trees for disease and pest suppression.
- Tall Grass Restoration: Chemical treatment of invasive species within natural areas using appropriate herbicides, with special consideration near water bodies. Enzymatic treatments may also be used to promote the breakdown of organic materials.
All pesticide applications are conducted by certified applicators in accordance with Illinois Department of Agriculture regulations and the Village’s integrated pest management standards. For specific application dates or product inquiries, please contact the Village Landscape Division.
