Meetings

All meetings are held at the Schaumburg Police Department - Communications Conference Room, 1000 W. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg, IL 60194 at 3 p.m. unless otherwise stated. Financial Reports

Pursuant to Illinois Public Act 101-0610, the Schaumburg Police Pension Fund's investment assets are managed by the Illinois Police Officers' Pension Investment Fund - a single trust fund with over $8 billion in assets. The Schaumburg Police Pension Fund still owns all of its assets and liabilities. Financial reports for IPOPIF can be found here. Village of Schaumburg financial reports can be found here. FAQs

Will my notice of retirement to the VOS be forwarded to the Pension Board?
No. After making notification to the VOS of your retirement you must submit an Application for Retirement Benefits to the Police Pension Board.

What are the components of my pensionable salary?

  • Specialty stipend
  • Educational stipend

How much will my pension check be?
Contact a member of the Pension Board for information (or visit IDOI Benefits Calculator website).

How often will I receive my pension check?
Your pension check will be direct deposited on or about the last business day of every month.

Who do I contact for the continuation of my health care benefits?

When will I receive my last VOS paycheck, what benefit time will be paid out and what is my last date of employment?

If I get married after I retire, will my spouse be eligible for survivor benefits?
As of January 1, 2023, 40 ILCS 5/3-120(c) allows a surviving spouse to receive benefits if the spouse was married to the retired officer for at least 5 years prior to death of the retired officer and the surviving spouse has attained the age of 62.  Please contact a pension board member for further information.
