COVID-19 Passenger Notices
Because of the stay-at-home order enacted by the State of Illinois due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) end of service schedules are being moved up from 9:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 6 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
To limit the risk of exposure to COVID-19, Pace operators (drivers) cannot physically assist passengers except to secure mobility devices (upon request). This is a temporary policy that will remain in place for the duration of the Governor's Stay at Home order. Operators are not able to physically help passengers board or exit a vehicle, carry bags, or travel to and from their door. Passengers who need physical assistance while traveling are encouraged to bring a personal care attendant (PCA) with them. PCAs ride for free.
Everyone, including operators and front-line staff, benefits from limited exposure to others. Under federal DOT ADA regulations, transportation systems are allowed to take precautions like these to protect the health and safety of passengers and operators. Please do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and limit your travel to essential trips. As we work to provide individual trips, travel times may be longer and pick-up times may be limited. Please allow for extra time.
Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) is provided by the Village of Schaumburg and Pace’s Suburban Bus Division. Schaumburg’s signature transit service has evolved over the years into one of the few community-operated bus services in the Chicagoland that provides door-to-door access to any location in Schaumburg. Since its inception in 1979, DART has provided more than three million rides with approximately 70,000 rides expected through the end of this year.
To schedule a ride using DART, call 847-352-8097. Make sure to reserve a ride 90 minutes prior to your desired pick-up time. A dispatcher will then tell you when the bus is scheduled to arrive. The bus can arrive anytime within a 15-minute window after the scheduled arrival time. However, it is recommended that you are ready 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled arrival time just in case the bus arrives early. Once the bus arrives, the bus will wait one minute for you to appear.
|Cash or Ventra||$2.00||$1.00|
|Ten Ride Tickets||$19.00||$9.50|
DART users can pay fares using Ventra, a pre-paid electronic card that riders can tap and board the bus. Purchase cards, deposit funds, register your card and check balances by visiting ventrachicago.com.
Booklets of Ten Ride Tickets can be purchased online at WebPay or can be purchased at the Village of Schaumburg Finance Counter.
Although village facilities are reopened to the public, the village strongly encourages the public to use established “no-contact” methods of conducting business by only coming into Village Hall as a last resort.
