Best in Governance Award	2025	Schaumburg was recognized as a Top Performer in the Economy category of Polco's 2025 Best in Governance Awards, as determined by the Voice of the People. Winners are determined using data from the National Community Survey™, engagement surveys and simulations, and Polco’s GPAL performance measures.
Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting	2025	The Finance Department received the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its annual comprehensive financial report.
Tree City USA Growth Award	2025	Schaumburg achieved 2024 Tree City USA status and received a Growth Award for the village's commitment to the planting, care and celebration of trees.
ACEC Special Achievement Award	2025	The National Parkway Roadway Improvements - IL Route 58 (Golf Road) to American Lane project was selected by ACEC Illinois 2025 Engineering Excellence Awards judges to receive a Special Achievement Award.
Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community	2025	The Village of Schaumburg received a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community designation from the League of American Bicyclists for its continued commitment to improve bicycling through policies, infrastructure, and programs.
APWA Project of the Year	2025	The Springinsguth Stream Corridor Restoration project was selected as the Public Works Project of the Year in the Environmental category from the American Public Works Association Chicago Metro Chapter - Suburban Branch.
ICMA Community Health & Safety Award	2024	The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) awarded the Village of Schaumburg with the Community Health & Safety Award for its innovation and excellence in implementing its Crisis Response and Intervention Program.
Digital Cities Award	2024	The Information Technology Department was awarded for improving the digital, citizen and government experience through technology and leadership.
Distinguished Budget Award	2024	The village was honored with the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Award for its FY 2023/24 budget plan.
Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting	2024	The Finance Department received the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its annual comprehensive financial report.
Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge	2024	Schaumburg Police Department placed first in the Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge against other law enforcement agencies of similar size and type to create the best overall traffic safety program.
ISO Class 1 Rating and CFAI Accreditation	2024	The Schaumburg Fire Department is 1 of 6 in Illinois to achieve both an ISO Class 1 Public Protection Classification rating from the Insurance Services Office (ISO) and accreditation status with the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI).
CALEA Accreditation	2024	The Schaumburg Police Department was awarded its 11th national accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®) in the Law Enforcement program for continuing to meet the highest professional standards of public safety.
APWA Project of the Year	2024	The village's American Lane Culvert Rehabilitation Project was awarded the Public Works Project of the Year in the Disaster or Emergency Construction/Repair category from the American Public Works Association Chicago Metro Chapter - Suburban Branch.
Innovation Award	2023	The DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference recognized the village for its unique presentation that showcased its new 10-Year Vehicle Replacement Application.
Digital Cities Award	2023	The village placed fifth in its first year of moving up from the 75,000-and-under population category to the category of municipalities with a population of 75,000 – 124,999.
Distinguished Budget Award	2023	The Village of Schaumburg has been honored with the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Award for its FY 2023/24 budget plan.
Outstanding Navy Reserve Employer	2023	The village was one of approximately 50 employers to be recognized for providing outstanding support to Navy Reserve sailors who work for organizations in a civilian capacity.
Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge	2023	Schaumburg Police Department placed second in the Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge against other law enforcement agencies of similar size and type to create the best overall traffic safety program.
Tree City USA Growth Award	2023	The Tree City USA Growth Award recognizes the village's demonstration of environmental improvement and outstanding level of tree care.
Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting	2023	The village received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its FY 2021/22 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report from the Government Finance Officers Association.
ACEC-IL Honor Award	2023	Recognizing the village's Pavement Assessment and Management project with an Honor Award for exceptional engineering benefiting the public welfare.
